One Year Anniversary - Thank you!

We have reached our 1 year anniversary as of the 1st week of December.

Anyhoo, I wanted to take the time to first thank all of you for training here, supporting yourselves and each other and supporting this place. Without you guys, there is no CF Littleton/Front Range BJJ. Together we have created a pretty sweet gym and martial arts academy, and more importantly a great community. I am indebted to you guys for helping my dream come true in the form of this place and giving me a place to do what I love to do. Thank you so much!

Also, I want to thank Jeremy, Brent and Andres for all the work they do and have done here. They arrived at different times and have all become essential parts of the whole. They each bring their own brand of expertise, style and inspiration to this place and we could not exist without them. You can't do anything in life by yourself and I have been so fortunate to have these guys as friends and co-conspirators. Thank you for all that you do.

Saturday Open Mat Sessions 12:30-2

Coach Andres will now be hosting Saturday Open Mat from 12:30-2 - every Saturday. Please do your best to make it this Saturday 11/21 to kick it off. This can be a time for the BJJ crew to get together for some good training. It's always best to bring your gi & some shorts so we can train one or both. You need two stripes on your white belt to attend this session.

Also, coach is getting ready to go to Grappler's Quest in Vegas in December so he needs to do a lot of extra training. This Saturday session is a great time to come and help him get that in. Even though we compete as individuals it is always a team effort to get everyone ready. Your help is appreciated!

Muay Thai Intro Seminar this weekend and filming...

Make sure you guys make it for the Muay Thai seminar this Saturday at 12:30 with Kru Marc. Please bring anyone you like as well. The cost is $10 for members, $20 for non-members. We will have 5 loaner pairs of gloves here at the academy so if you need a pair for the seminar please speak with Coach Ian or Andres and we will reserve a pair for you.

Also, my brother will be in town starting Saturday thru Tuesday. We will be getting plenty of footage from the seminar and maybe doing an interview or two. Next Monday, we will focus on BJJ training so please come for fundamentals or intermediate or both that day. We want to get plenty of footage of you guys training and do some interviews. It will really help out the academy if you can be here for Monday night's classes.

Thank you!

Weather Watch

12 noon class is a go with Brent. 2 stripers and up who want to come in for an open mat session from 12-1 are welcome. Let's all stay home for the evening. I realize a lot of you live closeby but we also have members who do not. The weather is supposed to get progressively worse through the day. I think it's best to be conservative and stay off the road. Tomorrow evening the forecast is for the weather to be tapering off so we should be back online. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Quick Tournament Update

No disrespect to coach's opponent, but this was definitely the shot o' the tournament
(click the pic to view the gallery)

Hey all,

The team did awesome at the tournament. Zack won his match by arm bar in very dominant fashion. Helius won his no-gi match by points in OT. In the gi, he lost one by triangle and won one with an armbar (not sure yet on his placement in that division). Coach Andres got 3rd in his division with an awesome throw and finish (by choke) in his first match. Wait till you see the pic! Marcus absolutely crushed it like I knew he would winning his no-gi division and finishing second in his gi division.

We are really proud of you guys. Congratulations especially to Zack, Marcus and Helius on doing great in their first tournament. It takes courage to go out and compete - many people will not put themselves in that position. You all represented the academy and yourselves in total style. It was an honor to coach you!

Pics soon...
